Currently in my WEPO we are working on a project which involves reaching out to a local organization in which we will then utilize various mediums of text to help support the business.
Looking around the community, I reached out to a Hispanic bakery that had recently opened. Part of the reason I choose this business was the fact that my family also owns a Hispanic restaurant and I really wanted to utilize the opportunity to help another family with the same background as my own.
Living in North Florida, you would be surprised as I was to find out how scarce legitimate Hispanic food was here. And the few places this town does offer really doesn’t hit home for me. But alas, we had been graced with the presence of a very authentic and delicious Hispanic bakery.
Scheduling some small talk with one of the owners, I asked if there was anything in particular that they would like from us being that it would potentially help promote the business. To which they answered anything we would want to do is on the table. To my surprise this well-built establishment was actually the couple’s first run in the restaurant business. They were simply in it for a change of pace career wise, to do something fun. This really filled my heart.
With this information in mind, I really want to capture the business for what it truly is; an authentic family run joint that just wanted to put delicious food on the table, create some smiles, and finally bring some real Hispanic food to Florida’s Capital. So I plan on creating a video in which that showcases the business both inside and out, with some commentary from the workers, owners, and customers on the inner workings of the place; the humble beginnings, mission statement, atmosphere, etc.
Hopefully everything goes as planned and I will execute a project which both benefits my grade and the business. Stay tuned.
